Qantas operates from three airport hubs within Australia: Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Headquartered in Sydney, QANTAS is an acronym for its originally listed name, which is Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited.

One unusual aspect of Qantas aircraft is that they are given special names. This has been a long-held practice since 1926. When Qantas names their aircraft, they usually follow special themes: Australian aviation pioneers, Australian cities, etc. For instance, the very first A380 of Qantas was named after the Australian Women Pilots’ Association founder Nancy Bird-Walton.
Qantas also upholds Australian aboriginal artwork with its Flying Art series. Since 1994, there have been four aircraft that have been painted with indigenous art, in cooperation with Balarinji Designs. The first commissioned aircraft was released in 1994, and it was painted on a B747-400. This large moving art is entitled “Wunala Dreaming.” In 1995, “Nalanji Dreaming”, depicting the lush colour palette of tropical Australia and its 40,000 years of ancient cultural traditions, was painted on a Qantas Boeing 747-338. The third Qantas aircraft to be painted with indigenous designs is a Boeing 737-800. “Yananyi Dreaming” is a design based on the paintings of Rene Kulitja, and depicted the colours of the landscape surrounding Uluru. The fourth and latest designed is a painting on a B737-800 aircraft entitled Mendoowoorrji.
This indigenous art livery is very important for Qantas, as they pay homage to the heritage of the original peoples of Australia.
Qantas has more than a hundred aircraft as part of its fleet, with several Airbus 330s, Airbus 380s, Boeing 787s, Boeing 747-400s, Boeing 737-800s, Boeing 717s, and Dash 8s.

Through the Manage Your Booking option on the Qantas website, passengers can change or cancel flights, buy extra legroom seats, print or mail their itinerary, and purchase additional baggage allowance. Qantas Frequently Asked Questions
How can I print my boarding pass again if I have already checked in for my flight?
Domestic Booking – If you have already checked in online for your domestic booking and require to print your boarding pass you will need to log on to Manage Your Booking and select ‘Check In/Boarding pass’ to re-check in to receive your boarding pass.
International Booking – As you cannot reprint boarding passes for International bookings, when you arrive at the airport go to an Online Check-in counter for assistance.
You will need photo identification and a copy of your itinerary and any relevant travel documents for an international flight. Visit Forms of Identification for further information.
What is Book Now, Pay Later?
Commitment isn’t for everyone.
With Book Now, Pay Later, you can hold your seat with a holding deposit per passenger and enjoy the freedom of paying the rest closer to your departure date.

Thanks to our range of check-in options, your journey through the airport is easier than ever when you fly with Qantas.
Check-in on your mobile from 24 hours up until 30 minutes before your flight departure for eligible Qantas operated domestic flights or selected Qantas Link flights.
Check-in online via Manage Your Booking for eligible Qantas operated flights or Qantas Link flights.
Domestic – You can select seats and check-in online from 24 hours up until 30 minutes before flight departure.
International – You can check-in and select your seats from 24 hours up until 2 hours before your flight departure at qantas.com
How do I get my eTicket, bags, seats, or carbon offset tax invoice?
An itinerary receipt for a flight eTicket will be produced once the ticket has been issued. This should normally occur within 24 hours and it will be sent directly to the e-mail address you have supplied via e-mail as a PDF attachment. You can view your booking online at any time at Manage your Booking. You should carry your eTicket receipt at all times for both international and domestic flights. Photographic identification must be produced at check in.
You can access your eTicket itinerary receipt (tax invoice) or email a copy of your your itinerary via Manage Your Booking. Just select Resend tax invoice or Email Itinerary.

How do I book a Reward flight?
You can book a Classic Flight Reward online for travel on Qantas and most of our partner airlines for yourself and/or eligible family members at qantas.com or by calling Qantas Contact Centres (a Reward Assistance Fee may apply). Find out more.
