Apple Australia Overview

Apple is a brand that everyone is very familiar with.  It revolutionised technology and made it very personal when it launched the revolutionary Macintosh in 1984.  A list of other innovative products such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV has made Apple a household name and a premium choice for technological products worldwide.

Apple currently has four software platforms: iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. These four platforms give all Apple users a seamless experience across all Apple devices.  Aside from the use of breakthrough devices, Apple also introduced market-leading services that are still incomparable in the market.  These services are the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay and iCloud.

The newest product launch in Apple Australia is the new iPad Pro.  It has the most advanced display to date, which is the powerful A10X Fusion chip, which provides fast performance and complex tasks like editing photos and 4K video, rendering 3D images or playing games. This also comes with a new 10.5-inch model. It also introduced a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro.  Aside from the advanced A10X fusion chip, it also features ProMotion technology, which automatically adjusts the movement of the content.

In Australia, Apple currently has 21 retail stores and numerous resellers. In 2005, Apple launched the very first iTunes Music Store in Australia. The very first retail store in Australia opened on George Street, Sydney in June 2008.

Apple Australia Customer Service

Apple Australia customer service is exemplary, to be expected of any Apple retailer worldwide.

All customers who buy the latest iPad Pro have special benefits.  These benefits include free delivery, if the order is made before 2:00 PM AEST and provided that the model is in stock.  The product will be delivered the next business day guaranteed.  Customers who buy online can pick up available items within an hour or collect the product at a designated pick-up point.

If the customer needs to return something, they can send it back for free or drop the item off at an Apple store. Customers can also easily track their orders and be notified if it’s ready for in-store pickup.

Not many people are aware that the company also has an Apple Consultants Network, hundreds of independent companies that are certified by Apple to offer a range of solutions and professional services to customers who have purchased Apple products. There are various ways to choose an Apple consultant.  The customer can choose macOS deployment experts.  These are Mac, server and networking people who can configure and support the OS X server, along with integration and set-up of networks in a home or business setting. Mobility deployment comprises of companies who are able to configure, deploy and support multiple iOS devices through the use of tools such as Mobile Device Management, Profile Manager, and Apple Configurator.  For a range of mobile solutions, consulting solutions and cloud integration for iPhone, iPad, and iOS, customers can find a mobility solutions consultant in your area.

There are also creative consultants who are able to lead users in using creative software such as iBooks Author, Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro. There are currently 14 Apple creative consultants in Australia.  They are found in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.

There are also Education and Training solutions consultants who are able to deliver workshops and training to education professionals.  They are able to demonstrate how to integrate Apple products into the curriculum.  There are currently 46 listed Education and Training Consultants.

Apple Australia FAQs

  • How to set up your Apple Watch?

Before you start to use apple watch series 3 which offers GPS and Cellular you need an iPhone 6 or the latest version of iOS.  To use Apple Watch Series 3 which has GPS only or earlier models of Apple Watch, you need an iPhone 5s or later with the latest versions of iOS.

You are also required to complete the following steps;

  • On your iPhone, go to settings – Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on.
  • Also, make sure that your iPhone is connected to WIFI or a cellular network

Note; if you have already set up your Apple Watch but would like to use it with a different iPhone, you can easily transfer your Apple Watch and its content to your new iPhone.

To turn your Apple Watch on, press and hold the side button until you see the logo of Apple. This may take some time. We recommend you to get Apple’s help if you are unable to turn on your Apple Watch or if you are asked to enter a passcode but forgot it.

Hold your Apple Watch and iPhone close together. Wait for the ‘use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch’ message to appear on your iPhone, then tap continue. If you don’t see this message open the Apple Watch app and tap start pairing.

Tip; keep your iPhone and Apple Watch together until you complete these steps.

Center the watch face in the viewfinder in your iPhone. Now wait for the message that says –‘your Apple watch is paired’

If you are not able to use the camera, tap Pair Apple Watch Manually, then follow the steps that appear.

Choose the wrist on which you want to wear your Apple Watch on. Read the ‘ Terms and Conditions’ and then tap ‘Agree,’ and then tap ‘Agree’ once more to continue.

If asked to sign in you can enter your Apple ID Password but if you are not asked you can sign in later form the Apple Watch App – Tap General – Apple ID – Sign in.

Most of the features that require a cellular phone number won’t work on Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS+Cellular) unless you sign in to iCloud.

If ‘Find My Phone’ function is not setup on your iPhone, you will be asked to turn on ‘Activation Lock.’ If you see ‘activation lock’ on your screen, your Apple Watch is linked to an Apple ID already. You just need to enter the correct email address and password for that Apple ID to carry on the set up. If your Apple Watch was previously owned, you might need to contact the previous owner to remove Activation Lock.

You can set up Location Services, Siri and Route Tracking. If Siri is not already set up on your iPhone, it will turn on after you choose this option.

After this step, your Apple watch shows you which settings it shares with your iPhone. If have already turned on the ‘Find my iPhone, Location Services, WIFI calling and Diagnostics for your iPhone, these settings will automatically turn on with your Apple Watch.

You can skip this step if you don’t want to create your password, but are required the password for one of features like ‘Apple pay’

On your iPhone, tap on ‘create a password’ or add a long passcode then switch your apple watch to enter your new code. To skip, simply tap on don’t add passcode.

You will then be asked to set up Apple Pay by adding a card.

They will make you walk through setting up features, like ‘SOS’ and ‘Activity’ on Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS+Cellular), you can also set up Cellular settings here.

Then you can install your apps which are compatible with Apple Watch.

Depending on your quantity of data, syncing might take some time. While you wait for your watch to sync, we recommend you to have a look at Apple Watch Basics.

Keep your devices close to each other until you hear a chime and feel a gentle tap from your Apple Watch, then press the Digital Crown.

Pro Tip: If you want to learn more about Apple Watch, you can read the Apple Watch User Guide.
